Windsor Castle is a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire. It is notable for its long association with the English and later British royal family and for its architecture. The original castle was built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion of England by William the Conqueror.
Visit the charming town of Windsor and explore the oldest and largest occupied Royal castle in the world. Windsor has so much to offer and is a must for a day out.
Windsor Castle has been home to Monarchs for close to one thousand years and is the Queen’s country retreat, closest to London.
St George’s Chapel, located within the Castle, is the resting place of Henry VIII and where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were wed.
Pick up from a central London location. Travel time to Windsor approximately 1-hour drive. Upon arrival in Windsor, we will visit Windsor Castle and also St George's Chapel. After visiting the historic buildings we can stroll through old Windsor, taking in the picturesque streets and alleyways adjacent to the castle, whilst heading towards the River Thames to cross over the water into the neighbouring village of Eton. Depending on the itinerary you require, you may choose to take lunch or dinner in one of the many traditional English pubs that Windsor has to offer. At the end of our visit to Windsor, if time allows on our return journey to central London, we can also stop off and visit the historic sight of Runnymede, which is where King John signed the Magna Carta.
