The Blue Mosque is an 18th-century Shia mosque in Yerevan, Armenia. It was commissioned by Huseyn Ali Khan, the khan of Erivan. It is one of the oldest extant structures in central Yerevan and the most significant structure from the city's Iranian period.
The Freedom Square or Liberty Square, also known as Opera Square and Theatre Square until 1991, is a town square located in Kentron district of Yerevan, Armenia. The square is part of the Yerevan Opera Theater complex, located just to the south of the main opera building, between the opera park and the Swan lake.
Kentron is the city’s graceful cultural hub, where crowds head to rose-pink Republic Square for nightly musical fountain shows. Home to contemporary exhibits, Cafesjian Centre for the Arts is built on the tiered Cascade complex, with views of Mother Armenia monument and beyond to Mt. Ararat. Stalls at Vernissage open-air market are filled with handicrafts, and young professionals sip local wines in chic cafe-bars.
