Coimbra World Heritage Tour

I will show you my city in a fun, interactive and unforgettable way! You will feel like a local, even if your stay in the city is for a couple of hours, visiting the most typical places and using our five-senses. At the end of the tour you will understand why as “Coimbra more charm when it’s time to say goodbye”… and you will want to come back!
I can combine themes and build an unique journey through the streets of the historical center, classified by UNESCO as World Heritage in 2013.

We will visit the main monuments in the city, including World Heritage classified (since 2013) buildings, while walking in the most typical streets of the downtown, uptown, and the Jewish neighbourhood. There we will find and learn about the typical “tascas“, restaurants and pastries, best handicraft shops.
While walking up the Hill we will have wonderful panoramics to the city parks and gardens. . . and learn about the oldest theme park in Portugal as well as about the tragic yet beautiful story of love of Pedro & Inês (the Portuguese Romeo and Juliet story). Speaking about love, we will also let you know what FADO really means, and that in Coimbra consists of a Serenade, different from Fado in Lisbon!
During this tour you will also learn about typical Portuguese architecture and architecture during the Portuguese Dictatorship (that lasted till 1974); famous Portuguese people and their houses while student’s at the oldest University in Portugal.
