The beautiful Serra do Caramulo rises at more than a thousand meters of altitude, owner of landscapes of great natural beauty, pictures que mountain villages and several courses of crystal clear water. Throughout the mountains are picturesque villages of great charm and tradition, some of which have been restored in recent years as a measure of heritage protection. Mata do Buçaco, designed and created by man for spiritual purposes, a green jewel in the heart of Portugal, is home to many mysteries and surprises.
Our first stop will be the Botanical Reserve of Loendros, where the Loendro, a shrub with a height between two and four meters in extinction in natural state, normally develops spontaneously. Then we will make a brief stop by the medieval tower of Alcofra. We will then proceed to Caramulo, where we will be able to visit the museum, and view the mountain landscapes of the viewpoints of Caramulinho and Cabeço de Neve.
If there is a cool and peaceful place to stroll, this place is Mata do Buçaco. There are about 400 species native to the Portuguese Atlantic range and approximately 300 from other climates and many centuries-old trees. It is here that we also find one of the most beautiful hotels in the world, the Buçaco Palace, worthy of princes and princesses. We must also visit the old Convent of Santa Cruz, converted into a museum space. There are still more treasures to discover in Mata do Buçaco, but for that you will have to visit it…
Arriving at Vila do Luso, we will make a brief stop by the S. João fountain for a water test. We will end our trip in Águeda, also known as the city of colorful umbrellas. Enjoy your vacation with us.
