The tour gives you the chance to enjoy Segovia at your own pace. They depart from Plaza de España you meet several guides from the company show your ticket and they show you a line to wait for your bus. They drive you to Segovia in a confortable coach and give you 15 minutes for a coffe or bathroom break upon arrival before you start your guided walking tour around the old town of Segovia. The tour was fun and complete. Our guide for the day was Alfredo he was very fun and tried to keep the group together. The tour started at Acueducto de Segovia and ended at the Alcazar around 12:30 noon. Then you are given the rest of the day to explore on your own. We met another group and were acompanied by Alberto who was very fun.
I had hoped having a guide would help navigate the beautiful city of Segovia and learn more than I would from simply taking a guidebook. I was wrong. First, the guide - Alec- was very nice and I’m sure is quite knowledgeable. Unfortunately, his explanations were very brief and cursory- probably due to the fact that he was speaking in Spanish and English and so it took twice as long to say half as much. He also said the cathedral was “not open” for visiting so skipped it. Turned out it’s open to the public- as we discovered on our own later in the day. So glad we didn’t listen to him. The trip back was on an unheated bus- after standing in cold rain waiting for it.
Save your money- take your own bus or high speed train from Madrid (it’s only 30 minutes) and a good guide book and you’ll be much happier.
I took the Segovia only tour and I really enjoyed It. Segovia has so much history it was invaluable to have a guide. Plus we had ample opportunity to explore on our own during the afternoon. Definitely worth it!

So glad we did this
Tossed up on how to get to toledo from madrid there were too nany options in the end we went with the easiest and closest busvision.about one hours drive to toledo and we worried about tgge size of the rtour group fiir tge escorted walk in toledo. On arrival the group was divided into english speakers and other languages then again into groups that purchased lunch or other options.
Left us english speajjers a group of about twelve and left with plenty of time to ourselves for lunch or sightseeing.
It cost about 22 euros for a seniors ticker and i think 25 generally.
Thi s was a full anb enjoyable day and a great way to visit toledo.
We ate at cafe del kasco and i h ave reviewed it seperately because it helped make our day.
P.s.try the fruit tart.
Booked the Toledo Experience basic tour online on the busvision website and got a discount. They have various pick up points around central Madrid and the drop off is near the metro Plaza Espanya. The double decker bus had large windows, managed to get the upstairs front seat with good views. Unfortunately it rained for almost the whole day so the views were limited.
While on the bus the guide Elena gave us some information about the tour and offered an upgrade from my basic tour to the full guided tour with lunch. She assured me that vegetarian options were available in the buffet lunch and even charged my credit card for the difference. Excellent initiative.
On arrival in Toledo everyone was divided into 3 groups depending on which type of tour they had taken. Anna was our guide for the full tour and she is excellent. We went up the escalators to the city and walked around all the major sights. The entry ticket to 3 places was included with a short guided tour in each place and some more time to look around on our own before continuing to the next place. The main sights of the Cathedral, monastery and synagogue were much more interesting with a guide to explain the details and history.
Anna's English is very good and her stories were interesting and funny. She answered questions willingly and well. The walking was easy and the tour covered a lot of places but was not tiring. The city is a bit of a maze, was nice to not worry about getting lost. The rain was a nuisance, bring along a poncho or an umbrella just in case. We were taken to a shop for a bathroom break but otherwise there was no commercial plugging.
Lunch was at a nice little restaurant, E10 buffet which was included in the tour. There were enough vegetarian options including delicious paella and dessert. We were a group of about 10 people from all over the world and it was good fun.
