Spain is well known for its delicious food and drink: it is a paradise of gastronomy. And in Seville, to venture out and enjoy this delicious food and drink is to go for tapas. In fact, Seville is the undisputed capital of this glorious Andalusian tradition.
Of course, there are many varieties of tapas—flavors change from place to place and from bar to bar. The setting varies, too. Sometimes one will sit for tapas and other times one will stand. (Rest assured, the ambiance is as much a part of the experience as the meal itself.) But in the end, the best tapas is always the one surrounded by good company. And to enjoy the best tapas experience is the singular goal of the White Umbrella Tapas Tour.
Our tour only visits the places that serve authentic and traditional tapas alongside drinks smartly paired with the best food in Seville. We are tourists, indeed, but we will be sitting (and standing!) next to local Sevillians all the while. This is where they eat and drink and we know why. So let us show you.
For obvious reasons, we have enjoyed curating this tour perhaps more than any other, and relish every opportunity to pass along this expertise. We make three stops at our favorite locales and all of the food and drinks are included. The menu typically includes ‘’Sirloin with Whiskey,’’ “La Pringá’, ’“La Carillada” or “Spinach with chickpeas”. And we drink! Here comes the “the rebujito” and refreshingly cool beer.
And because we visit only the most authentic of tapas bars in Seville, prepare to find yourself surrounded by traditional Sevillian atmosphere, to stand (or sit!) among the bullfighters and other curiosities. (The waiters keep tabs on the bar with chalk—they really do.)
Of course, while we are enjoying tapas, perhaps we ought to learn a little bit about it at the same time, right? What is its origin? How does tapas vary from place to place? This and many more questions are answered for you every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday over the course of two lovely and filling hours of food, drink, and reverie. Join us. Enjoy this day with us.
A minimum of 4 people is needed at the meeting point to carry out the tour.
