We offer you a walking tour through Santiago’s Old Historic Town at your own time and convenience. Our guides will highlight the subjects which you and your group are specially interested in. Our walk covers the renowned places of Santiago, but also the less known spots, such as Alameda Park or the fresh market. At the same time, you will enjoy the culture, legends and stories of a thousand-year-old town.
We customize our tours as per your wishes but in case you want a general view our basic private guided tour starts through the medieval streets in Galicia’s capital which covers all that is necessary to learn and find out the most important details of the city at a glance. The first part of the visit encompasses the most tourist part of the city: the different squares around the Cathedral (Obradoiro, Inmaculada, Quintana, Platerías, Fonseca) as well as, of course, the famous street “Rúa do Franco”.
The second part of the visit leads into less known places and corners of Santiago de Compostela, as is Parque de la Alameda (point with the best views the city), hidden squares, narrow streets and the Farmer’s Fresh Market.
Besides walking the most emblematic streets in Santiago Old Town, the whole visit is full of entertaining stories that will help you understand the history of Santiago and it’s Camino, the discovery of the Apostle’s tomb and the consequent pilgrimage from all of Europe’s boundaries in addition to other curiosities related to typical elements such as the scallop’ shells, Saint James’ Cross or the Botafumeiro… and much more. Enjoy your vacation with us.
Meeting Point: Middle of Obradoiro Square. Look for the BLUE UMBRELLA.
