I learned to cook Spanish Paella with my mother and my grandmother who make some great paellas. Spanish Paella was born in Valencia (Spain). I always eat Spanish Paella at home and I do not go to restaurants. My grandmother’s recipe is delicious where each person adds their special touch.
I will cook a paella in my house and I will show you how it is cooked. You can ask me what you want, I will tell you the utensils to use and the ingredients, etc.

Spanish Paella

I am a Valencian from a Valencian family of all my life and I live in Valencia. The paella recipe has been passed down through the centuries from parents to children and that makes us special when it comes to cooking an excellent paella. I have been cooking paella weekly with the recipe since I was young from my grandmother for family and friends.
Now I want to show my grandmother’s recipe to everyone online so that you know first hand how to make an authentic and delicious Valencian paella. Enjoy this tour with us.

Wonderful experience

The experience was well organised. The visit itself was a wonderful learning journey of history of food in the region. We were able to buy the same spices to take home during the market visit. The kitchen and cooking experience was so fun, it was bi-lingual in Spanish and English and somehow everyone was on the same page. The chef was so fun and full of personality. She showed us how to make the paella and even gave us tips on how to rescue one if we see it going wrong. Eating the paella at the end was fantastic.

When in Valencia, learn how to cook Paella!!

I cant recommend this cooking class enough. Miguel took us on an entertaining and authentic trip to the market. Miguel dont take no s**t from nobody! And Chef Miguel is one of the happiest and charismatic people I have ever met. I am really glad that we opted to make the Valencian rabbit, chicken and snail Paella - its a far more involved recipe than a Seafood Paella. Lunch at the end of class was delicious- mussels and spanish omelette for starters, the paella we cooked (which was magnifient) and rice pudding to finish. Plus white and red Valencian wines. Spectacular.

Fabulous paella cookery school

We started with a trip to central market to buy all the ingredients required for a typical Valencian paella and then, thanks to Miguel, we went into the kitchen and learnt how to make it. Preparing the paella was brilliant fun and our hosts explained beautifully and made the event really fun. We then sat down (about 12 of us) and ate a big Spanish lunch which included our own home-made Paella. Of course, being in Spain, we were served plenty of wine and took our time to enjoy the wonderful food and drink. Great fun, well organised and I look forward to making paella in the UK sometime
